Our Doctors
Dr. Anjaiah Katta
Owner & DVM, PhD
Dr. Anjaiah Katta was born and raised in Andhra Pradesh, India. He has always loved animals and pursued this passion as a lifelong career. Dr. Katta obtained his BVSc and MVSc from ANGRA University in Tirupati, India. He worked as a large and small animal vet for 3 years in India before immigrating to the U.S. in 2005. In 2011, he graduated and earned his PhD in biomedical science from Marshall University’s Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine in Huntington, West Virginia. While completing his doctorate, he worked on several first-author publications on diabetic medication. Dr. Katta worked as a small animal veterinarian in the Charlotte-Metro and Columbia areas before settling permanently when he opened Sun City Animal Hospital in 2020.
Dr. Katta’s special interests are preventive healthcare, geriatric health and screening, dentistry, and soft tissue surgeries. He prefers to practice evidence-based medicine while fostering the bond between owners and pets. Through continuous education, patient care, and client communication, he pursues veterinary excellence in all aspects. He is a proud member of the American Veterinary Medical Association.
Outside of work, Dr. Katta enjoys spending quality time with his wife, Avani, and children, Akshar and Aari. He loves to travel and see new places, as well as watching thriller movies and cricket.
Dr. Sudarsanam Kundla
DVM
Dr. Sudarsanam Kundla was born and raised in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. He has loved animals since he was a small boy and has been practicing vet medicine for 24 years. Dr. Kundla attended the College of Veterinary Science in Tirupati and worked with poultry, large animals, and then smaller domestic animals in India for 9 years before immigrating to the US in 2009. Living in Michigan he continued to work in small animal medicine until 2014 before moving to Raleigh, North Carolina. In 2019 Dr. Kundla relocated to the Charlotte area and came on board as the secondary veterinarian at Sun City Animal Hospital in 2020.
Dr. Kundla has a strong passion for internal medicine and preventative care, focusing on keeping pets healthy and addressing complex medical conditions with a proactive approach. Through ongoing education, compassionate patient care and detailed conversations with pet parents, he continually strives for excellence in Veterinary Medicine. He is also an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association.
When he’s not working, Dr. Kundla enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, along with his cat Ammu. He also enjoys watching movies and cricket or hanging out with friends.
Our Staff
Nicola N.
Nicola is a former California resident who recently moved to Charlotte, NC in 2023. A former Biology major, she has worked in collegiate laboratories, eco conservation and tour guiding, wildlife rescue, and as both an Animal Care Technician and Vet Technician. With almost 8 years of Veterinary Technician experience and 4.5 years of practice management, Nicola joined the Sun City team in July of 2023 and loves being able to help create a happy and healthy working environment for the staff while providing the best care possible to patients. She also has a passion for natural medicine and is a certified Holistic Pet Health Coach (HPHC). After spending years working for an animal shelter, Nicola prefers to only own rescue animals and has adopted pets Kaylee (pitbull/american staffordshire terrier), Jasper (pitbull/lab/boxer mix) and Pineapple (albino ball python). When she’s not working, Nicola enjoys hiking, reading, doing yoga, collecting crystals, and spending time with her pup.
Kallie E.
Kallie was born in Prosperity and now lives in Rock Hill. She attended Winthrop University for Kinesiology, then switched career paths and is now a veterinary assistant. Kallie joined the Sun City team in May of 2021,and one of her favorite parts of the job is being able to send pets back home healthy. She has many fur babies at home: pups Esme, and Chance; cats Keanu and Presley. When she’s not working Kallie loves to listen to music, visit her family and enjoy nature.
Madison H.
Maddie lives in Lancaster and has been a member of the Sun City team since January of 2023. She is currently taking Veterinary Technician classes online at Penn Foster, and previously worked as a Tech at Banfield and Long Animal Hospital. She loves working with animals and being able to help them feel better. Maddie’s home is full of animals: dogs, cats, birds, lizards and much more. She enjoys working with rescues especially and is an expert cat handler. When she isn’t working, Maddie enjoys listening to music, spending time with her daughter and fiance, and spending time on the water.
Gabrielle M.
Gabby was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina, and has been a valued member of the Sun City Animal Hospital team since June 2023. With six years of experience as a veterinary assistant, she is passionate about providing compassionate, high-quality care to every patient while helping clients better understand their pets’ health through education and communication. Her attention to detail and genuine love for animals make her an important part of the veterinary team. At home, Gabby shares her life with her beloved senior Morkie, Maevis and her cat Connie. When she’s not caring for patients, she enjoys expressing her creativity through writing and painting, making the most of her time outside the hospital.
Jurney G.
Originally from Montana, Jurney now calls Charlotte home and has been passionate about animals for as long as she can remember. Growing up surrounded by farm animals, dogs, cats, ferrets, rabbits, and more inspired her lifelong love of veterinary medicine. She previously worked at Banfield and has been a veterinary assistant for 3.5 years, where she has developed a reputation for providing calm, compassionate care to every patient she meets. At home, Jurney enjoys spending time with her four-legged family, including her dog Daisy Mae, cats Moonbeam and Storm, and her horse, Sunburst. Outside of work, she loves drawing, coloring, listening to music, horseback riding, fishing, arts and crafts, and relaxing with a good movie.
Marissa F.
Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, Marissa has called several places home before settling in York, South Carolina in 2026. She has been working in veterinary medicine for 4–5 years, beginning her career in reception before advancing to her current role as a veterinary assistant. Marissa is passionate about helping every animal she encounters and enjoys supporting both pets and their families through every stage of their care. At home, she shares her life with three dogs—Nova, Duke, and Aurora—and four cats: Giffy, Larry, Jovie, and Gracie. Outside of work, Marissa enjoys hiking, discovering new restaurants, spending time with her dogs, catching frogs for fun, and showing off her love of dancing as a budding TikTok creator.
Summer B.
Summer was born in Pineville and currently lives in Indian Land. She joined the Sun City team in 2022 as an intern her senior year of college, and since then has worked as a Receptionist and part time Vet Assistant. Summer is currently also enrolled in medical school and received her B.S in Biology and A.S. in Psychology in 2023. She has two cats – Sox and Eri – and a German Shepherd named Major. When she’s not working, Summer enjoys playing the piano, playing soccer, cooking, and doing puzzles.
Brianna B.
Bri was born in Lumberton NC and raised here in Indian Land. Ever the student, she has a Bachelors of Science Degree/Pre-Vet from Emmanuel University and is currently in the DVM program at UTCVM. Bri started working here at Sun City in January of 2023 as a tech assistant and has been developing her skills ever since. She loves helping animals and has worked with horses, sheep and goats most of her life. She also has a fur baby of her own, a German Shepherd named Major. When she’s not working, Bri loves to compete in horseback riding competitions, play soccer with her younger siblings, paint, be outdoors, and do woodwork/landscaping around her family home.
